例えば水の音について。
雨が傘にぶつかる音、地面に跳ね返る音。ジョウロから出て鉢の土に吸い込まれる音、豪雨の翌日の川の音、凪いでいる海の音。
水の音は無限の種類がある。しかし、それらの音を呼称する言葉はほとんどない。ある現象が名付けられるためには、それが必要であると判断されなければならない。
では、判断が異なればその音には、名が与えられたのか。
Take, for example, the sound of water.
The sound of rain hitting an umbrella, bouncing off the ground. The sound of a river the day after a heavy downpour, the sound of a calm sea.
There are an infinite variety of sounds of water. Yet there are few words to call these sounds. For a phenomenon to be named, it must be judged as necessary.
Then, if the judgment is different, was the sound given a name?
